To all you night owls up, or those outside of the US We are hopefully having the first launch from Halley Bay soon!
Status (last update UT 0640 02Jan2013)
- Halley team has payload 1B on the flight line. 1D is ready for launch and payload 1I is being tested.
- SANAE team has payload 1K nearly ready for outdoor testing
- Imminent launch of payload 1B, as of 0640 on 02Jan2013 UT (2239 01Jan2013 PST) SIM=H1 (SANAE acting as ground station for launch and balloon ascent)
Payload 1J is still up and running. The Solar wind has sped up a bit, but that's not saying much. It's now at around 350 km/s up from ~250 km/s earlier today. Bz has turned southward sharply earlier tonight so although we might not have a large geomagnetic storm, perhaps we've had or will have some substorms through out these early morning hours.
We'll share updates as we get them,
Goodnight
hooray robyn! best wishes for your launches. -kristina
