Halley Bay Mag:
relatively quiet compared to recent past days.

GOES Electron Flux:
Has returned to  normal levels after peaking at ~ 1450 on the 20th of January.

GOES Proton Flux:
Has stayed at background levels for the lat 24 hours +

Space Weather from Spaceweather.com and SWPC.noaa.gov

Solar wind speed is 370.1 km/s
Solar proton density 3.6 cm^(-3) (nope that's not a mistake, it's up at 26)

48 sunspots are now visible. NOAA has the likelihood of a M class flare to 05% and a 1% chance of an X class flare. The evil twins are starting to go beyond the eastern limb of the sun.They did produce a C class flare, but it isn't expected to be geo-effective.

Kp is quiet kp = 1 with a 24 max of kp = 1
Bz = 0.9 nT south
Btotal = 3.2 nT

There is a coronal hole in the southern hemisphere which has just appeared on the western limb. The HSS would be expected to reach us ~6 days from now if this hole is geo-effective.

From Kyoto:
AE: a few small substorms maybe. AE maxes around 200 - 400 nT.

Dst: still negative around -12 nT, so either a long recovery, or recovered depending on your definition of recovery.

Talk to you all soon
