The start of the trip

Although many might say that the start of this journey began years ago, the field teams are just about ready to depart to the antarctic and many of the rest of us are preparing for mini GEM and AGU this coming week. For Robyn, she's getting ready for both. We've had our last minute telecons and formulated ways to all stay in touch. The nerves and excitement are mounting.

Soon we should hopefully have wonderful movies of the actual balloon flight paths. But until then we can enjoy this movie of what we expect the mission might look like.

Enjoy!

Official Blog of BARREL Science Campaigns

After much hard work building up our first set of payloads, the BARREL team is approaching our first science campaign.  We'll be launching balloons from two Antarctic stations, Halley Bay and SANAE, UK and South African stations, respectively.  Many more updates, details, and photos to come.  Enjoy!
